Adoptions 

Our top priority here at WGR is to find the best home for each dog.  We screen potential adopters (in many ways) to ensure that every adopted dog goes to a home that is safe, loving, and lasting.  During the adoption process, you will work closely with your dog's foster parent(s), who know your dog most intimately and can best determine if your home is the best fit for your dog.  We will take the application you fill out and run a background check. We will also do a vet check as all other dogs in the home must be up-to-date on vaccinations. Please ensure that all of your information is accurate.  We will schedule a meet & greet for your family to meet and play with your dog prior to adoption, and we will also a schedule home visit.  All adopters sign a contract that outlines and promises proper treatment and care for your pet.  The process may seem somewhat strict but this allows us to make sure our dogs receive the best homes possible.  A Majority the dogs we rescue come from shelters and/or have abusive pasts. We are 100% dedicated to finding them a home where they can live a happy and healthy, for the rest of their life.

Please note that we will not adopt our dog to you, if you plan to make it a "service dog". We do not want our dog put into a situation that he/she may not be qualified for.

We adopt to Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Minnesota only at this time. Residents of Indiana, Michigan and Minnesota will be required to drive to Wisconsin for a meet and greet and the dog that they apply for MUST already be spayed or neutered at the time of adoption.

We do not allow siblings to be adopted into the same household.
