As his name suggests, Doof is a goofy, fun-loving guy! He is all smiles (literally.. he’s a smiler!), even when he’s clumsily running into things or falling off the couch. He truly loves hanging out with his people, receiving head rubs, and playing with any sort of toy. In fact, he is more people orientated than anything else. Doof is dog friendly and prefers a run and chase style of play. During his cat test, he was hissed at and kept his distance, refusing to be within a couple feet of her. He does not live with cats, however.
While we don’t know much about his past, Doof appears to have lived in a home previously. He is doing very well with house breaking and can be loosely supervised as he seems to understand dog toys and is not a heavy chewer. He is crate trained and loves to have a fluffy bed to curl up on when in his crate. He did not seem to pick up on any obedience at his previous home(s), however, and attempts to gently rough house with his foster parents. He seems to rough house more with men than women and children. He is learning and improving, however, he would do best in a home that will continue setting boundaries. While he absolutely loves children and is great when supervised, Doof would do best living in a home without kids under 12 until he learns his manners when it comes to playing.
Doof enjoys going for walks but needs to improve his loose leash walking. He would make an excellent wingman in that he loves to try and say hello to strangers on the street. He is incredibly friendly and has absolutely no stranger danger. He is a medium energy-level overall but puts his all into giving affection to his people. While Doof loves to lounge around the house, he also loves to play and occasionally gets the zoomies.
