Lakota here, and yes, I know I am the cutest boy around! I am a big boy with a very big personality. People are my favorite and I love to get all the belly rubs possible. I like to be the alpha male in my foster home with three other dogs and sometimes my foster parents have to remind me to play nice. I also try to steal all of their food, so I have to eat my meals in my crate. A slow introduction to other animals and supervised playtime will be a must. I can also be mouthy with hands and ears and love to jump, which is why children must be 12 years or older. I have not met a cat yet.

At night, I sleep in the crate with no problems and will sleep peacefully all night! I am not a fan of the crate during the day, but I am working on it. I’m getting better at walking on a leash, but I pull a lot and will try to run after anything (it's a herding dog thing), which is why a martingale collar will be required for me. I really enjoy the outdoors and being able to go on long walks.

My bark is pretty loud and I like to use it a lot, so no condos or apartments for me! I know to go potty outside but I have been marking a lot in my foster home. My foster parents are working hard on correcting that. My new home will need to continue working with me as I learn the rules of the house and how to listen to my owners. Because of this, proof of training will be required within 90 days of adoption. Please know I do shed and will require grooming to keep my fur detangled and my butt fluffy.
