Willingness to work with her veterinarians in Illinois to continue care | German Shepherd Experience

Hi, my name is Sheena. I am 4 months old and boy do I have a story to tell. I was rescued by this amazing group who took me to several doctors and they found out I have a bad heart. The words they used were Severe Cardiac 4 chamber dilation and systolic dysfunction, mitral regurgitation, ventricular tachycardia, and myocarditis. There is a chance I will outgrow my condition but there is also a chance this could end my life at any time. The doctors said if I make it to 1-1.5 years old it is likely I will live a full life. The doctors told the nice people at Woof Gang Rescue that at this time I am not eligible for surgery. I know if they could fix my heart they would. I take several medications 2-3 times a day and they CAN NOT be missed. This may require a pet sitter, dependable family member, or friend to come visit me when you would not be home to give me my medication. I just want to make sure we cover this now because my life will depend on it. I will require many follow up visits and more testing as I get older. This is absolutely necessary. I will need a family that will learn how to watch for signs I need crate rest or to be held when my heart starts beating faster than it should. Another thing is that I will not be able to be spayed because my heart would not be able to handle it. This is why I will require a secured fenced in yard. I absolutely can not get pregnant as that would also end my life. I understand that my condition is not something everyone would be able to manage and afford but I am hopeful my family is out there. I am currently working on crate training and potty training. I would probably try to chase cats as I was very interested in one I saw. I love being with my foster brothers and sisters. I am a puppy so little fingers in my mouth might find out I have sharp teeth. I am loving this thing they call life and I plan on living it to the fullest. If you would like to share the rest of my life with me apply today. Please understand that my foster mom is going to ask a ton of questions. She loves me and just wants to make sure I go to the right family that is going to do everything they can for me.
