Yips

Chihuahua - Long Haired

Male

12 yrs

6 lbs

Adoption Fee $200

Requirements:  None

Hey there! As you can see, I’m an adorable little chihuahua whom they call “Yips”. I think I got this name because I like to communicate when necessary, but my voice isn’t too loud and my barks are gentle. I am NOT too loud for most apartment buildings.

I am very sweet and cuddly when held. I can be shy at first. When I first went to my foster home, I would run around the yard to show my foster mom I am an independent pup, but really she looked like a giant when she stood up. When my foster parents sat down on the floor and fed me treats, I realized they’re humans and now I’m not shy with them anymore. In fact, I will jump onto the couch to get closer to them; I roll over on my back for belly rubs and am not afraid to climb onto laps for attention.

Speaking of food.. I love it! I had a lot of my teeth pulled during a dental cleaning earlier this month, so I mostly eat canned food but I also love green beans, chicken, and soft treats. When my foster parents sit down for dinner, I let out a couple yips to let them know I want to share, but I settle down very quickly.

I live with other dogs and am friendly with them. I haven’t played with them at all; I just co exist. I would do well as an addition to a doggy household or as an only dog. I do not live with kids or cats, but I would be perfectly fine as long as they know I’m an individual living being and not a stuffed toy.

I love my crate. It is a large crate for me, but I have my bed that I sleep in and my food and water in there. Even when I’m roaming free in the house, I will often go lay in my bed inside my crate. I am on a strict potty schedule and am doing well with house breaking, but my adopters should understand that I will need to be on a schedule to prevent accidents when I move into my forever home.

Do I sound like your perfect pup? If so, apply to meet me today!
