Hi there, I’m Dillinger! I’m a handsome, medium-sized gentleman with a short, muscular build and a stunning, thick red and mahogany coat. If you love compliments, I’m the dog for you because whenever my foster family takes me out for walks, people literally stop us just to say how gorgeous I am!

I am a deeply affectionate, social guy who loves to be near my humans and does wonderfully with everyone I meet, including children and other dogs. Because I’m a compact 34 pounds, I can get a little nervous if a really big dog starts barking at me, but I think that’s pretty understandable for my size! Otherwise, I’m a total sweetheart who just wants to be part of the pack.

I’m an absolute superstar when it comes to my nighttime routine. I do excellent in my crate overnight, especially if you toss a tasty bedtime treat in there for me! I’m also a quiet roommate. I’m not much of a barker at all, except for a polite alert to let you know when someone is at the door who isn't one of my regular, accounted-for humans.

When it’s time to head outside, I walk beautifully on a leash and won’t pull, though you might need to hold tight if a squirrel or a rabbit suddenly darts by! I also have a hilarious little outdoor quirk: I like to hold my pee until I find the absolute perfect spot, so don't be surprised if I don't feel the need to mark every single tree we pass.

Inside the house, I have a big, unique personality and some truly elite relaxation skills. I love to stretch out, and you will often find me hanging out in a full "sploot" position, or completely upside down with my chest up in the air. I even fall asleep like that! I am a world-class cuddler, but because my beautiful fur is surprisingly thick, I tend to overheat after a while. When that happens, I’ll just rotate down to the cool floor for a bit before coming back for more snuggles.

I am highly treat-motivated, which makes training a breeze, and I have so much love and charm to give. My foster family says my strong, silly, and loving personality is bound to completely steal your heart the moment you meet me. I can’t wait to find my forever family and start our adventures together!
